oak and black walnut trim home bar variation with full bar back - Greg G.
chicago oak home bar rail with black walnut top

"I wanted to give you all a better look at the bar top. So here is a good look at the Black Walnut bar top with a real Oak Chicago bar rail. The contrast looks great and brings up the grain in the Black Walnut. I must say this bar top came out better then I had hope for, considering this is the first time I had ever joined boards together to make anything. Also I have to thank the man responsible for this web site. He really does a nice job with this site and He gave me allot of great Ideas for this Bar".  Greg G.

Here are some "L" Shaped versions of the Easy Home Bars

"I modified your bar plans to build an L-shaped bar which is 6 feet across in the front and 4 feet on the side. I basically extended the plans around the corner and followed all of the same principles. I still need to do some finish work with the fill in between the planks, and to go over the varnish a little- but I am more than pleased with the way it all turned out".

"I used all pine boards and was able to buy all of the materials for under $400- which is great considering I extended the bar around the corner, and would have never been able to find the size/style I needed anywhere else. I finished the bar in a mahogany stain and also used it on the glass rack which I built to complement the beautiful bar".

Another great "L" shape bar mod by Tim G. Great Bend, KS

Tim G. Great Bend, KS

"I've finally completed my new home bar!
The plans were extremely easy to understand. I modified the plans for an L shaped bar. Your home bar construction plans show how to make a great bar, affordably. I spent less than $500.00 including the refrigerator. Thanks again".

Tim G. - Great Bend, KS

Note: The outside of the bar is covered with rough cut, grey barn wood. It looks great!

"I just wanted to drop you a line to let you know how pleased I am with your bar construction plans!!! it was very easy to follow the directions and with the photo illustrations it made clarity a snap. I modified mine a bit by adding a row of glass blocks across the front and sides. I also added a wet bar at the l shape I made".

 Darrell K.
Riverview, MI

"I put a row of 24' clear rope lights inside the bar to shine thru the front of the glass blocks ( a touch of class looking) I finished the bar with 3/4" oak plywood on the top and 1/2" oak plywood on the sides.
I stained it with Minwax golden oak and put 3 coats of spar urethane sanding between coats with 220 sandpaper. I must say it does look impressive!!! ( lots of compliments on it) I spent just under $500.00. again thanks' for the sturdy plans!!!!!"

"I just finished this home bar project, thought you might like a picture. When I moved in to the house, there was only a deck off the kitchen door in the back. Once all of my wife's interior design requirements were met, my part of the bargain was to build a bar on the deck. First, I installed a steel roof and the railings. That was the hard part. Then, borrowing heavily on ideas I got from your
Easy Home Bar Plans site, I designed and built the bar. We're having a party in October to break it in, but rest assured, its up and running and ready for football season!"
- Patrick G. - somewhere warm I presume...
