2008 Photo Contest Entry Instructions

	You Could Win $50.00! Barplan.com holds a monthly contest for the best completed home bar projects. Please read the the instructions below...

Best Completed Bar Project Photos of the Month Wins $50.00
Grab your digital camera and capture the best views of your bar for all the world to see.
To enter, just e-mail your photos along with any comments related to your project.
Qualifying entries should include at least 6 good photos, but please send in as many as you like! Party photos are always a plus!
Only one winner per month. Limit of one project entry per household per month.
Submit your photos along with your contact info to: barphotos@barplan.com

Contest open to active site members only. The winner will be selected from all monthly entries and selection will be judged on the following criteria, in order of importance:

1. Overall Workmanship.

2. Quality of Bar Finish & Trim.

3. Photo composition, subject framing, proper lighting & focus.
4. Description & comments, under 500 words please.

5. Overall "Uniqueness" of project & modifications.

6. Total number of "quality" photos submitted.
7. Creative lighting i.e. Using no flash to capture accent lights, yet in focus.

8. Adding active party scenes or group photos to entry is a plus!

Contest winning hints:
We're not all professional photographers, but in order to win you should try to avoid out of focus, tilted or cut off pictures, and these other photo faux pas. To avoid focus problem when taking low light picture, use a tripod or set the camera on a ladder. Many cameras have low light settings too which can help avoid blur.
construction shots are ok, but include several well planned finish shots too.	cut off bottom of shot, taking one step back might help. Show us your entire bar!
that big ol basement pole in the way, but sometimes it's unavoidable...	kids toys or cluttered background... distracts from your beautiful bar project.

To qualify for the next months contest, you should always send in new pictures.
It is likely that the only reason you did not win was because someone sent photos with somewhat better photo composition. We want to see your entire bar in one great shot!

Full contest legal terms:
Winner will be drawn on the first business day following the close of the contest. Winner will be notified by e-mail within 24 hours. Winner must respond within 5 business days in order to claim their prize. If winner fails to respond within 5 days, another winner will be drawn. Entry in the contest constitutes acknowledgment of winner's consent allowing the use of his/her name, and/or likeness on the barplan.com web site.

This contest is open to all persons, age 18 and older, who are legal residents of the United States. Employees of Microlinx Technologies and their immediate families all NOT eligible. Offer void where prohibited. Odds of winning depend on the total number of entries received. Taxes on the prizes are the responsibility of the winner.
