I was hoping someone could tell me if this is possible and or worth doing.

I am planinng on building a variation of the 8 foot bar with a raised drinking area. on the one side of the bar i was planning on using my old apt sized freezer as a kegerator, but removing the lid and putting on a custom lid with a laminate top that will match the lower bar counter and will be flush with the rest of the counter. I was thinking of using 3/4 inch plywood with rigid foam cut to fit the inside of the freezer. This way i can remove the lid and replace the tanks instead of sliding the freezer out to open the lid.

thanx for any help or advice you can give me
