well first off I can’t believe I got a membership to a site that shows you how to bulid a bar! I am not that handy of guy, but when I got a bar priced to buy or build for me was crazy. I cannot believe I am going to attempt this project. My wife just keeps laughing at me and to be honest I too am laughing, but I am gonna give it a go!

If I follow the instructions to a tee, will I be successful?

by the way “HI” name is Barry. I am sure I will be talking (asking questions) real soon!

    welcome to the club.

This project takes patience. It can be confusing at times teetering from the cut list to the materials list. Just make sure you know the difference between the two. Also, if you are brand new to this and don’t own a lot of equipment, you might want to consider having your local home improvement store make the cuts for you to your dimensions. Please note that they don’t make precision cuts for the bartop, nor can they cut out the area for the beer gutter.

When I did my project I wrote the numbers and letters of each piece on them, so that I would not get confused. I also use a compressor with both an air framing nailer and brad nailer. It is worth the extra expense to either rent one or borrow one (to get the professional look, you have to use the same tools).

Last hint. Keep this website close of the bars other users have done. It helps when you get stuck. Good luck and have fun!

    rookie:

You’ll have no problem. It’s not that difficult.
Read the plans through, then follow the directions.
You’ll only be making length cuts, not any fancy planing or rip cuts.
You could use a little intuition, and if you want, you can make minor changes if you like.
Take a look through the gallery, it should give you an idea of easy ways to customize the bar.
If you’re not that experienced, just follow the plans and you’ll be just fine.
    Cheers!~

    Steve
