Building Tiki Style Bars

Occasionally we get questions asking “where are your tiki bar plans?”
Building a tiki bar is no different than building any other type of bar except that you use bamboo, thatch or other tropical related materials to decorate the bar and bar area.

To build a tiki bar:
1. Build the core structure using our plans.
2. Decorate the outside with bamboo & thatch.

These materials can be very expensive. Also try using Google to find
bamboo and thatch materials suppliers.

WARNING: Adding a roof to a poorly anchored tiki bar is NOT recommended. We recommend that any roofs be built as a separate roof structure around the bar area and that it be constructed according to local building and fire codes. We have heard stories of tiki bars being destroyed in moderate to heavy wind storms, just like in the tropics…that’s why the use cheap, locally available bamboo and thatch materials.
