I’m about to complete construction of the bar, just have a few more pieces of trim to add. I’m going to use wood putty to fill in the holes from the finishing nails, but was curious if I should be using any caulk to seal the edges of the arm rest / trim? I’ve checked online and it seems to be rather incloncusive if the caulk is stainable. The gaps aren’t very big so I’m wondering if it’s worth it to have the mismatch.
I’m not sure about the it being stainable, never tried. One of the big problems with caulk is if its that it tends to repel envirotex. If you are planning on using this on your bar top I would avoid caulking. I used wood glue under my trim and it sealed quite well. The first couple of pieces of trim I put on I forgot the wood glue and thats where my leaks were. Hope that helps. Of course if your not sealing the top with epoxy, I didn’t help much.
