Hello all, my name is Keith from Allentown, PA, and I am a new member to this website. I am going to attempt to build my first bar, and am looking for some suggestions. The room I would like to build the bar in is approximately 11′ by 11′. It has one full size wall, with the three other sides having access doors to the room. I am considering butting the end of the smaller side of the bar up against the wall, and have the longer side run parallel to that wall. I am going to have to adjust the dimensions of the bar to accomodate the room size, and am considering a 5′ by 6′ bar with either an 18″ or 20″ bar surface. Can anyone offer any input as to whether or not that would work, or if I should go smaller or bigger? Or, if you have any other dimensions that you feel would be better? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    Keith,
I am a real novice myself and just finished a L-shaped bar. I modified mine to be 7′ X 6’….The modifications are pretty simple. You just have to modify the long 2X4’s…You will see them..that sounds good….It really is a simple plan…good luck…..let me know if you have any questions…

I can’t figure out the difference between the material list and the consolidated list. I don’t know which one to use when I go to buy the materials.
