Lights under hand rail

I plan on using a simple milled bar rail 1.5 x 5.5. can anyone give me a tip on best way to mount lights so they cannot be sen? do I need to add a vertical pisce of wood to mount lights behind/ any tips on best lights to use/

Use an LED light kit…they last forever and give you the option of setting any color using a remote control. The backing adhesive is very poor, so just add some clear silicone to the back of the strip and place it under the over hang lip. You may have to use some masking tape to temporarily hold it in place while the silicone sets up.

I just bought some LED lights from Costco. 8ft long (4 x 2ft). Multi colour with remote control, steady lights, flash etc etc for $28.

Think they’ll look good (but haven’t finished the bar so can’t say yet !)
