I feel the need to explain the material cost on this and ALL projects due to one recent complaint.

On the sales side of the site, it says this project can be built for an estimated $250, which is true, the bar structure, which is what I design, can be built for around $250, if you use pine or have a source for cheap hardwood. If you buy that nice prepackaged (shrink wrapped) premium oak boards, you will obviously pay more.

Also, the tapper equipment is going to set you back about $200 to $250 depending on the finish you select. Then there is the fridge…you can either use an existing fridge or buy a cheap compact fridge for around $100. However, all of this can be shopped down and the $700+ you see in the plans document is not written in stone, it’s a high side estimate.

The bottom line is that there are many variables in materials cost and there is no way to guarantee any of the price estimates. So, if there is a complaint about material prices, please don’t say the site “duped” you into spending $20 for “expensive & elaborate” plans. Common sense works wonders.
