Nope – none whatsoever.
Usually when you build the DIY model, you’re
just interested in a custom size for multiple kegs or you just want to “do it yourself”.Check out this line of complete Home Kegerators
or check out the HomeBREW Kegerators that give you the option to buy the kegerator parts individually….great idea if you want avoid dismantling a brand new unit…you can buy the cooling unit and tap tower individually.
Hi Chief!
Section B is the angled corner portion and there is nothing to say you “couldn’t” resize it, but that is not supported in the CHBD for that project. (Can’t do 2 sides simultaneously)
If you study the plan framing, you can do exactly what you suggest. I’ll consider a future plan using your suggestion making the corner section smaller, moving the divide lines closer to the 45 corner.
Use the framing as your guide and vary it in any way you wish, then apply the skin and top using your tape measure against the core frame you come up with.
I agree – and I am working on EHBP-4a which will be the CHBD version. I’m in the final stages of verifying all the parts. It’s already in the CHBD as the “Do NOT USE” project… I’ve been so busy lately helping others that it just keeps sliding to the back burner…keep asking though, it helps move it back to the front burner. I can add an EXPERIMENTAL download section and that way maybe some of the more intrepid members can help verify.
They make a leveling compound for under tiles, but I don;t recall any name brands or product names…I’d ask your friendly Home Depot of home supply store specialist.
As for as how to keep envirotex from spilling, you can use that blue painters tape to make a small wall around the perimeter to keep etex from dripping onto the floor. It’s always a good idea to do a small project with envirotex to see how long it takes to setup. It usually takes over a month to get rock hard.don’t let the lack of the CHBD stop you from customizing your bar – it’s very easy if you just sit down and study the simple framing. Once you’ve built the customized (resized) framework, everything falls into place as you measure and adjust each additional piece using the new framework as your reference. People have resizing this plan in this way for years.
In all cases, be sure you read both the standard material list and if you decide to use the CHBD, compare the CHBD to the standard. If you see a major discrepancy, open a support ticket.
Always read through the entire plans set to be sure you understand which materials will be used for which parts. The materials list is a GUIDELINE ONLY! It is always possible to substitute materials for any woodworking project.
Any inaccuracies should be reported ASAP so they can be corrected. When in doubt, the standard plans material list should always superceed the CHBD material callouts.
I haven’t seen this done, but if you do, I would not suggest using glass. Rather you should try a thick clear plexiglass, which will set up back a bit!
Final trim for this project is basically your own call. See the gallery and what others have done for more ideas. There are virtually an unlimited number of ways and materials you can use for final trim.
Go with the callout, not the CHBD. The parts you mention are just optional final trim boards that are not even shown in the assembly diagrams. You can trim out the back of the bar any way you wish using any materials you like.
not sure which model you have, they are all a little different, but if you can remove the tower and it has a bezel that you can mount on the bar top, then just add a short length of 3″ diameter PVC pipe between the top of the kegerator and the under side of the bar top, run your beer line and insulate the inside of the PVC pipe with spray foam.
Search the gallery for photos…I’ll see if I can find some for you.
I’ll have to dig a bit, but I’ll take a closer looks for you.
That is an excellent idea. However, keep in mind that adding the thickness of your flooring material will raise your bar height a bit. You can either live with it, or mod the cut list by dropping the bar height an inch or so in the CHBD.
Use an LED light kit…they last forever and give you the option of setting any color using a remote control. The backing adhesive is very poor, so just add some clear silicone to the back of the strip and place it under the over hang lip. You may have to use some masking tape to temporarily hold it in place while the silicone sets up.
Here a link to the LED kit I use… https://www.barplan.com/blog/300-multicolored-led-strip-lights-with-remote-control/
Nice job! I see you have a four legged helper too!
ditto – paint it black.
