Well I just took the plunge and ordered the Edgestar 1.1 cu-ft freezer/fridge. Best price I could find was $169 shipped from Overstock.com.

I guess I’m committed to building this bar now!

Wondering the same thing. I want to build a straight kegger bar, but what do I do if/when the fridge breaks? A friend of mine built his bar with a kegerator for this reason.

Are there any updates on this? I’m going to be building a straight kegger bar soon and I’m considering the compact freezer vs fridge route.

Also, does anyone have pictures of their fan setup?

Finally, how hard is it to remove the freezer/fridge if it breaks down?
